APCEE MISSION
The Alliance of Parents & Children for Educational Empowerment, Inc. (APCEE) is an aggressive community-based entity whose mission is to secure optimal educational futures for children in extremely poor and marginalized neighborhoods. Created by globally renowned low-income housing and tenant management consultant, Bertha Knox-Gilkey in 2010, we have intervened on a daily basis with children in perpetual crisis, via operation of Parent Resource Centers in St. Louis Public Schools. (See Ms. Knox-Gilkey bio .)

We receive referrals from teachers of students who need assistance. An important part of our process is outreach to parents, with regard to student academic progress and behavioral issues, which we accomplish through home visits. Parents sign permission slips for children to work in APCEE Centers for specific time slots. Our goal is to involve parents in students’ educational experience before skill deficits increase and behavior escalates. e receive referrals from teachers of students who need assistance.
